Title: Events Assistant
Organization: National MS Society - Utah State Chapter
This position will be a paid seasonal part-time opportunity with a minimum commitment of:
• March-July 10-35 hours per week (potentially more during peak event days).
• Office is open M-F 9:00 am–5:00 pm
• Required dates to be available: April 16-20 and 23-27 (Walk MS – April 21 and 28); June 18-22 (Bike MS – June 23-24; July 23-27 (MuckRuckus – July 28)
Duties:
The events assistant will assist the senior logistics manager to plan, carry-out, and wrap up the major fundraisings events Walk MS, Bike MS, and the MuckRuckus. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in logistics, event planning, non-profit work, and programming.
The Event Assistant will support the Sr. Manager, Logistics on a variety of needs related to Chapter events. These responsibilities include:
• Assisting the Sr. Manager, Logistics with all event logistics
• Finalizing vendor and sponsor details
• Assisting with day-of event operations
• Working closely with staff on all event related issues
Requirements:
• This position requires that candidates have event background (through volunteering or through other employment)
• Comfortable working with a computer (Word, Excel, the internet, etc)
• Ability and willingness to make phone calls and document interactions
• Attention to detail, hard working, problem solver and self motivated
• Must be able to work long event days and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation
• Positive attitude and a sense of humor is a must!
• Open to all majors. Related degree in public relations, marketing, communication, or related preferred.
