What We're Looking For:


The USA TODAY Collegiate Correspondent Program is a premier opportunity for students to be published on a rapidly growing and influential national platform. Work from our Collegiate Correspondents is reviewed by USA TODAY staff on a daily basis and frequently published in USA TODAY, the nation's leading national newspaper.


If you are selected as a USA TODAY Collegiate Correspondent you will be expected to:

  • Write one news story a week under a tight deadline for USA TODAY College
  • Respond quickly to communications from USA TODAY College staff
  • Stay up-to-date with current events
In return, USA TODAY College will:
  • Provide mentoring by USA TODAY editorial staff
  • Publish your work on usatodaycollege.com
  • Pay $350 upon successful completion of the program
  • Ensure your work is considered for publication in USA TODAY and USATODAY.com
  • Offer unique coaching and advice sessions from professionals working on the cutting edge of journalism and digital media
  • Provide access and assistance in gathering interviews and finding sources
