Organization: Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company


Hours: Interns will be expected to commit to set office hours which meet the requirements of the internship and allow for the completion of the projects assigned. The intern must be prepared to attend some Company performances and events as needed. There is no monetary compensation for this internship. Interns will receive complementary tickets to Ririe-Woodbury performances.


Duties: The Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is seeking up to five interns to help with audience and community development endeavors, fundraising and marketing needs. Internships will be a hands-on experience, with time spent in the Company’s administration office and out in the field. This internship offers an opportunity to work in a small, dynamic, internationally renowned arts organization. It is a fun, flexible work environment with a company making a positive contribution to the arts community.

Interns will learn the ins and outs of managing a world-renown non-profit arts organization. The experiences gained in this internship will be practically applicable to other arts organizations, non-profits and even for-profit companies. Internships will be tailored to the specific skills of the individual.

Interns will help with a variety of projects including:
• Strengthening and establishing strategic relationships with community businesses.
• Organizing patron information and working with database management.
• Developing new markets and audiences for Ririe-Woodbury performances.
• Creating advertising and public relations campaigns as part of an overall marketing plan.
• Overseeing distribution of marketing materials throughout the community.
• Executing special events that relate to audience development and the Company as a whole.
• Conduct research for Company projects.
• Helping with various fund-raising events
• Coordinating with other departments to provide administrative support as needed

Skills: The ideal candidates for this position:
• Motivated and hard-working
• Works well collaboratively and alone.
• Strong interest in working with a non-profit agency.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Requires computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Internet research methods. Relational database experience a plus.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to manage stressful situations and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with all social media and communication outlets (i.e. Facebook, Blog, Twitter, Flicker, Youtube, and website maintenance) and the ability to navigate and maintain each effectively.
• Some design skills desired, but not mandatory
