Resulting in 2 being hired by WBI and the third being given a strong reference in helping land full time employment. One Student graduated in December 2010.

Spring 2011

2 part-time interns from the U. Paid hourly.

1 part time intern from Westminster. Unpaid.

1 full time intern from the U. Paid hourly.

Types:

1 CS programming

1 Mass Comm Strategic Comm. Graduated from U May 2011. She was placed with a company who works with WBI. She continues to volunteer for WBI while working at her new career.

1 Mass Comm General. Graduated May 2011, Moved back to California thereafter, positive reference.

1 Speech Comm. Works for WBI.

Summer 2011 (beta testing larger intern program)

6 part-time interns from the U.

1 part-time from Vanderbilt

All unpaid. Provided 3 day paid vacations.

Types:

1 Masters of finance - Currently referring her to Alumni/Network companies for interviews.

1 BA Finance Major - talked a big game, but could not perform the simplest of tasks. Not due to lack of skill, but due to immaturity and lack of professional consideration. Lessons learned by WBI.

1 New Media - Graduates December 2011 - offered paid work. He turned it down so as to focus on finishing school.

1 Ballet/Marketing Major - Starting Senior year - school focused - WBI is to help with job placement in 2012.

1 Mass Comm strategic/PR - graduated May 2011 - Gave positive referral and contacts with people and companies to help his career. Would be glad to give reference for work done. Recently, referred him for a job at new company. We understand he has not followed up.

2 CS Programming - Will stay on with WBI for fall 2011 with Paid Stipends.

Fall 2011

10 internships available (8 filled, 1 New Media, 1 Web Design open)

WBI can best refer students who are self actuated in the following areas:

  • New Media
  • Web Design
  • Computer Programming
  • PR- Strategic Communication

WBI teaches advanced SEO to relevant majors.

The ideal set of skills at the moment is someone who is well rounded in Mass Communications and willing to keep learning.

WBI can and wants to help students get new jobs. WBI can only help students who are ready to take advantage of the opportunity.

All intern applicants must be either a recent graduate, graduate student or graduating with their bachelors degree within the next 6-12 months.
