Position Description

This position is responsible for providing graphic design and layout for the Center for Student Wellness, Student Health Center, and student groups. This includes but is not limited to department branding, event advertisements, brochures, posters, web design, report template design, education and miscellaneous clinic forms. This position is only open to students who are currently enrolled at the University of Utah in fall 2011.

Essential Functions Designs and produces graphics, specific promotional and print-oriented materials, medical forms, educational materials, web design and miscellaneous art-related materials. Visualizes and executes most effective conceptual ideas within budgetary constraints and guidelines. Interprets and transforms raw concepts and ideas developed by other personnel into descriptive visual materials in varying formats. Works with professionals and students to ascertain needs and explain possible options available.

Qualifications

Sophomore or Junior graphic design (or related field) student with a minimum of one-year graphics experience or equivalency required, and a portfolio at the time of the interview. Fluency with Mac computer system, Quark Xpress, and Adobe Illustrator required. Photoshop & Contribute a plus. Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail, ability to manage numerous projects at once and meet deadlines, ability to work with supervisors and students and troubleshoot
computer graphic software.

Work Schedule & Compensation

10-15 hours per week; flexible with class schedule; $8.60 per hour
