Fall 2011 PR/Social Media Internship

KURU Footwear, an early stage Utah-based e-commerce startup, is looking for individuals who are excited about being an integral part of creating and executing a PR strategy. This is an incredible opportunity for someone that wants to play an integral, creative role in creating and executing a PR Strategy.

Schedule:
10-15 hours per week; days and work time flexible

Duties:
Interns will be responsible for helping create and then execute the PR Strategy for KURU, including:
Cultivating a list of media contacts
Contacting both online and offline media contacts
Managing relationships with media contacts
Helping formulate strategies for Facebook, Twitter, Forums, Message Boards, etc.
Writing press releases
Other PR initiatives
Occasionally interacting with customers
Requirements:
All interns must possess strong communication skills, good writing skills and knowledge of/experience with social media platforms. Students and/or recent grads with a strong passion for Public Relations are preferred. If you have a creative mind and enjoy identifying strategic PR opportunities, we want to talk to you. If you like fashion, we want to talk to you.

You must have a can-do, positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You must hold yourself to a high standard of performance and take pride in your work. You must be able to manage yourself and a willingness to "cold call" media contacts. You will be playing a critical role in helping us formulate and execute our PR strategy action plan.

This is a great opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and wants to play an active role in the PR process.

Understanding of Excel and Word preferred. Experience with Google Docs a plus. Experience with Social Media, Internet based data mining, and SEO strategies are a plus.

Compensation:
$8/hr
