HerCampus.com –University of Utah Writing/ Publicity Opportunities

The University of Utah’s branch of HerCampus.com is currently in the beginning stages of forming a branch on our campus. In order to get things rolling, and content published we are in need of a writing and a publicity team. This offer is open to all students at the University of Utah and will provide an excellent opportunity for students to publish their writing on a local and national platform.

What is a HerCampus.com branch?
It is a section on HerCampus.com devoted to your school, with the following seven features: News, Photo Blog, Campus Celebrities, Blog, Events, Polls, Campus Cuties—so that readers from your school can have an individualized experience on HerCampus.com.

How can you get involved?

We are in need of writers to cover everything from campus news, to a photo blog, to a fashion section. If you’re a student looking for that
extra experience that will put you ahead of your competitors in the job and internship market, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Editorial positions include:

Feature Writers: write regularly for one of our six features including campus news and campus events
Contributing Writers: write occasionally for the page
Section Editors: review the work of others
We are also in need of a publicity team to help market and run the social media for our branch. If you love tweeting and Facebooking, or just want extra experience in marketing, this is for you.

Publicity positions include:
Publicity/ Events Director: manages flyers, posters, tabling, chalking, emails, and events
Publicity team: a smaller group from the main staff to help the publicity direction with brainstorming sessions and tasks
Social Media Director: updates the Facebook page, Facebook group, and twitter.

As a branch, we are set to launch December 6th and need to build up content and staff before then. If you’re interesting in the opportunity, please email a resume and two writing samples to lexicsjones@gmail.com.

All interns are expected to maintain a high-quality work ethic as they would with any other employer.
