KUED Public Relation/Outreach Intern

KUED television is pleased to announce that four internships will be available to
University of Utah students interested in a sixteen week intensive internship experience
with one of the nation’s leading public television stations. Specifics of the program are:
• Four different positions are available. Two in production, one in public relations,
and one in web design.
• Applicants must apply for a specific position. For details, please see the
descriptions below.
• Applicants must be willing to work 18 hours per week during the semester
(hours are flexible)
• Successful applicants will receive 3.0 credit hours for the semester through the
Department of Communication (Comm 3610/4190)
• Interns selected will receive a new Apple® MacBook Pro computer for their use
during the internship. Upon successful completion of the Internship requirements, the
student keeps the computer. *
• Applicants must be a University of Utah student in good standing. Students from
all academic departments

PUBLIC RELATIONS/OUTREACH INTERN
Provide support for promotion and implementation of community outreach services,
activities and projects. Assist with organizing, filing, packaging, distributing, researching
and writing materials for projects, data entry of feedback on various projects. Perform
other duties as assigned. Weekends and evenings required for support of outreach events.
Demonstrated writing skills, knowledge of word processing and Excel, human relations
skills, strong organizational skills, basic web skills. Familiarity with list serves and
mailing programs. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Prior volunteer or community service
experience preferred.

KUED is holding an intern fair at the Department of Communications Building (LNCO)
where interested students can find out more about these positions.
