September – December 2011

Bremer Public Relations has designed its internship program to serve

as a learning opportunity and portfolio builder for the talented,

mature student who wants to acquire first-hand experience.

Schedule: 15-20 hours per week; days and hours negotiable

Stipend and Hourly: $100/month stipend + $10/hour for billable work

Resumes Due: Monday, August 1, 2011

Interviews: August 1 – August 8, 2011

Job Description: This internship involves joining Alicia Bremer, APR on several projects:

Publicizing the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City’s Centennial Gala, Sept.20, 2011

- Writing a variety of news items: calendar of events, news releases, media advisory

- Pitching the media and assisting with social media sites

- Working with Salt Lake magazine on online promotions for the event

Publicizing Caring Connections (a program of U of U College of Nursing) “Grief and the Holiday’s” November event

Supporting Bremer’s work in crisis communications planning and strategic planning

Conducting online and social media research

Updating the Bremer website and LinkedIn profile

If the intern does work for paid clients, this will be compensated at $10/hour. However, we cannot guarantee a specific number of paid hours per month. Requirements: Strong writing and communication skills as well as familiarity with social media are required. Seniors, recent grads or masters-level students with public relations, marketing or journalism emphasis are given preference. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of and experience with Social Media, Internet research and search engine optimization (SEO) for websites and news releases are a plus.
