Radio Intern - 2011 Spring Semester

Title:Radio Intern

Organization: KCPW-FM Public Radio (88.3 and 105.3 FM)

Hours: Need to be available all day, at least two days per week

Duties:
  • Researching bills
  • Gathering and editing sound bites via interviews and legislative pod-casts
  • Writing short, succinct news stories using sound bites
  • Possibly voicing wraps or performing interviews for air
Requirements:
  • Majoring in Mass Communications with a preference for those studying Journalism
  • Completed the writing for Radio Class or an equivalent
  • Familiarity with the state's legislative process is preferable but not required
  • Preferable working knowledge of Adobe Audition editing software
  • Must have available transportation, as they will work at the station's studios at the Downtown Salt Lake City Library and remotely at the Capitiol
