Hours: internship. Otherwise, unpaid with some perks (namely parties &lunch). Less tangible benefits to the intern include exposure to a magazine environment and direct work with staff and with the publishing community. Intern will also have the opportunity to write articles for the magazine (where qualified). Any published written work will be paid at our rate of $.10 per word.
Duties: Intern’s primary responsibilities are work hand in hand with the Managing Editor and Sales Team to promote the visibility availability of our magazine in the community. Duties may include:researching key distribution areas; ensuring quality magazine placement in distribution outlets; researching conferences, lectures and other community events where CATALYST should be present and coordinating presence at such events; managing contacts and databases.
Skills: We are looking for an individual or student who is interested in acareer in marketing, public relations or community. This position requires someone with an energetic, friendly and upbeat attitude. Organizational, computer, phone and writing skills are required.Candidate must enjoy a casual environment. Tolerance of cats and dogs a plus.
