American Lung Association

Under the supervision of the Manager of Programs, the Communications Intern will be responsible for producing American Lung Association in Utah's publications, to include writing, overseeing of designing and coordinating web-based efforts, and assisting with other public relations and marketing functions as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Implement public relations strategies to increase awareness of the ALAU programs and special events, positioning ALAU as the expert in lung health.

Provide media relations expertise and promote positive working relationships with news media.

Develop, implement, and manage ALAU's online marketing strategies.

Analyze, track, and positively influence ALAU's legislative and public policy initiatives.

Develop media relations strategies necessary to promote public policy and program initiatives.

Advance ALAU's public policy agenda through outreach, advocacy, position papers, print and electronic media.

Oversee web-based efforts including LungNews and the design of printed materials for programs and special events.

Responsibilities can be somewhat modified to meet area of interest and availability of time.

Commitment:

At least 6-8 hours/week. Preferably 10-15 hours/week. We are flexible with in-office hours, but hours must be between 8:30am-4:30pm, M-F.
