Learning Opportunities:
The Press intern will learn how to work with members of the media, create press coverage reports, and understand the importance of media coverage to a non-profit organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Update contact information in FileMaker database.
• Log press coverage and identify key themes.
• File hard copy press coverage.
• Develop and update media contact lists.
• Compile, post, and distribute press clippings.
• Create press coverage reports.
• Respond to general inquiries from coworkers and the press.
• Assist with research about Institute programs' facts and figures.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree or working towards a degree in Communications or related filed preferred.
• Experience working with databases preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILS, AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of computer skills - Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Candidates must be proactive and detail oriented.
