Hours: 15-20 hours per week; days and hours negotiable
Duties:
○ Publicizing the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City’s Centennial Gala, Sept.20, 2011
- Writing a variety of news items: calendar of events, news releases, media advisory
- Pitching the media and assisting with social media sites
- Working with Salt Lake magazine on online promotions for the event
○ Preparing two entries for the PRSA/IABC Golden Spike Awards
○ Supporting Bremer’s work in crisis communications planning and strategic planning
○ Conducting online and social media research
○ Updating the Bremer website and LinkedIn profile
If the intern does work for paid clients, this will be compensated at $10/hour. However, we cannot guarantee a specific number of paid hours per month. Skills: Strong writing and communication skills as well as familiarity with social media are required. Seniors, recent grads or masters-level students with public relations, marketing or journalism emphasis are given preference. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of and experience with Social Media, Internet research and search engine optimization (SEO) for websites and news releases are a plus.
