Title: KCPW Intern

KCPW public radio (88.3 and 105.3 FM)

Date:
Spring 2011 Semester, January through April

Duties:
Interns will work closely with KCPW management and news staff during the 2011 Utah Legislative Session. The chosen candidate(s) will be responsible for researching bills; gathering and editing sound bites via interviews and legislative pod-casts; writing short succinct news stories us9ing sound bites; and possibly voicing wraps or performing interviews for air.

Requirements: Candidates will need to be available all day, at least two days per week. Candidates should also have available transportation, as they will work at the station's studios at the Downtown Salt Lake City Library and remotely at the Capitol.

Skills: Candidates should be majoring in Mass Communication with a preference for those studying Journalism. Candidates should also have completed the writing radio class, or an equivalent. Familiarity with the state's legislative process is preferable but not required, as is working knowledge of Adobe Audition editing software.
