Major Gifts & Planned Giving Development Intern/ KUED 7

Title: Major Gifts & Planned Giving development Intern
Description: Assist in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of KUED's public television donors in the areas of major giving and planned gifts. Assist in the marketing and dissemination of fundraising information, implementation of major giving and planned giving projects, maintenance of physical records and database information, and processing of donor acknowledgements (e.g.: Thank You Letters) and cultivation activities (e.g.: Thank You Gifts, follow-up reports, etc.)
Duties:
  1. Major Donor/ Broadcasters Club Activities
  • Draft, proof, print and mail KUED monthly SEVEN guide and Broadcasters Club letter.
  • Process Broadcasters Club thank you letters and membership information.
  • Assist with donor data base management (data entry, data hygiene, troubleshooting, database issues, etc.)
  • Mail DVD's and associated Broadcasters Club materials.
  • Support special event planning and implementation activities.
  • Assist with miscellaneous account management details.

2. Planned Giving Activities

  • Manage planned giving donor information in the KUED database.
  • Draft, order, proof, print and mail bi-annual postcards.
  • Assist in coordinating donor meetings and special event details.
  • Print, proof and mail monthly SEVEN guide letter.
  • Follow-up on donor requests for information.
  • Assist in processing memorial gift details.
  • Assist in updating brochures and associated materials.
  • Mail special gifts, stewardship reports and event invitations to donors.
  • Manage planned giving donor files and associated paperwork.

The final candidate will work directly under the supervision of KUED's Major Gifts Manager and Major Gifts Assistant. They will be expected to work independently, make decisions and engage in problem solving activities in coordination with KUED Major Gifts department personnel.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be eligible for the Federal Work Study program through the University if Utah.

Applicants must have strong customer service, business writing, computer and organizational and planning skills. Interest in marketing and/or fundraising is a plus.
