Hours:
Part time, 20 hrs a week, May-August
Duties:
Concept and design innovative, usable, technically feasible, user interfaces for the site and various interactive projects.
Analyze and evaluate current front-end design/usability challenges and implement effective design solutions.
Design prototypes for user testing and design solutions based on user feedback.
Lead the design lifecycle utilizing the following deliverables: site maps, page flows, wireframes, prototypes, and full screen comps.
Champion brand and design standards across all projects.
Create and maintain the design style guide and user experience guidelines.
Be able to deliver for a range of design needs including icons, splash pages, navigation components, skins, feature stories, animations, marketing materials and microsites.
•Creating flash movies
•Creating animated .gif banners
•Producing static banners
•Optimizing banners for increased clicks and sales
•Creation of entire websites
•Optimizing site for increased visits
Skills:
•Be creative, thoughtful and able to express ideas in an articulate, concise manner; have a keen eye for typography, color and layout.
•Strong visual design skills, focus on details and quality, understanding of usability best practices.
•Good track record for ideas into highly usable and innovative designs for web sites and web-based applications.
•Mastery of PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, Flash, and CSS
•ASP programming and SQL Experience
•Knowledge of Client-side Javascript is a must
•Must have strong experience with advertising and design with in electronic, web and or print mediums.
•Must be detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•Ability to meet deadlines and be able to work independently.
•Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Knowledge of online marketing and web standards is a necessity.
•Other technical knowledge is required:
MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Explorer, Intranet Systems.
•Advanced raw HTML capabilities
•Comprehensive ability to work with Microsoft Office products
•Experience optimizing graphics
•Knowledge of Microsoft Source Safe
•Ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to accomplish tasks under a deadline
•High level of attention to detail
• Knowledge of In-Design and Quark
•Candidate seeking a degree in visual design is desired.
