Description: The Utah Farm Bureau Federation is looking for a student with interest in the public relations, journalism, communications, or agricultural communications field to complete a 9-10 week internship from May 31, 2010 through July30/August 6, 2010. The internship will be between 180-200 hours. Approximately 20 hours per week for approximately 9-10 weeks.

Job duties will include: writing newspaper stories for the monthly Utah Farm Bureau News; newspaper layout & design; magazine writing; photography; media press releases; designing displays (posters, programs, tri-folds, etc.); designing of brochures; creation of powerpoint presentations; assistance at Farm Bureau conferences & events; scanning photo albums for digital copies; media relations; Web site design & updates, projects in social media & web 2.0, assistance of other departments with communications needs; Farmers market promotion; and other tasks as needed.


Qualifications: Internship applicants familiar with certain software applications will be given special consideration. Please indicate if you are familiar with the following: Adobe Photoshop & Acrobat, Adobe InDesign / Pagemaker), Adobe GoLive (Web site program), Microsoft office programs, Social Media applications, video editing software. Other projects would include scanners and scanning software.
