Organization: Chalk Arts Festival
Hours:
Approximately 16 hrs. per week from April 20 - June 20th. More hours are necessary the week prior to the Chalk Art Festival, plus the two days of the festival.
Duties:
- Assist UFCF Communications Manager in printing, organizing and distributing CAF Artist registration flyers to schools.
- Compose short announcements about CAF, press releases and featured artist bios. Supervised and edited by Comm. Mgr.
- Email event announcements about CAF to all media, including online calendars. Follow up to make sure event gets posted.
- Organize and deliver materials to UPS volunteers to fill 4,000 information bags to be handed out at CAF.
- Communicate with more than 100 chalk artists, responding to emails and phone calls.
- Update CAF Facebook page.
- Collect and organize gift certificates and other artist prizes from Gateway merchants and other sponsors.
- Writing proficiency (correct grammar, spelling) and ability to accept editing from supervisor.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, initiative, enthusiasm, outgoing personality, and a sense of urgency.
- Interpersonal skills- interacting by phone and in person with potential sponsors, artists and other UFCF employees.
- Ability to take and understand direction.
- Ability to make time commitments and meet deadlines.
Interns will be provided with a stipend and reimbursed for job-related travel expenses. It is helpful for intern to have access to a car for travel within the Salt Lake Valley.
